Missed Meetings
Missing meetings and time together is difficult, especially for a couple of particulars: Our next meeting isn't until the end of March and we also are aware of the countdown of our time together. You have the agendas for all but our last meeting (when you will be presenting the capstone projects). What are your thoughts and what do you want to try and include? I am protective, somewhat, of the curriculum as is. It isn't many a place that we can gather and talk about heroism and humilty, and how the resurrection of Christ infuses the work that we do here on Earth...but as longs as we maintain a connection to the Fourth Week and to the readings, here would be a good place to generate ideas of how to go out with a bang. This is also a great place to express desires about the closing retreat.
Heroic Leadership
How do heroism and leadership go hand in hand? How do you define heroism? How does Lowney? What is holy boldness?
How can we impact the culture of our workplace, community, church, and family in small but heroic ways? Do we believe we can make a difference?
How does humility come into play in the work that we do?
How are you choosing things that glorify God?
Magis
According to Chris Lowney, Jesuit heroism is not just a response to a crisis but a consciously chosen approach to life; it is judged not be the scale of the opportunity but by the quality of the response to the opportunity at hand.” (242-243)
What is Magis and how do we live it? How do we interpret it? How can it be misinterpreted?
From Discipleship to Apostleship
How do we see the transition from discipleship to apostleship? What does this even mean and where are you on the spectrum of it...
Being Humble
Peace demands the most heroic labor and
the most difficult sacrifice. It demands greater heroism than war. It demands
greater fidelity to the truth and a much more perfect purity of conscience.
–Thomas Merton
Check-In: In what moment have you felt humble?
